Love Shouldn’t Hurt 12/5/2016 Mariah Cronin I remember when I was 13 (an unlucky number) and spent the day on the Cape with my best friend and her dad, who was my dad’s best friend. Before we got on the road I needed to go to the bathroom. I left the Port-A-Potty and walked down the parking lot towards them, me and my lanky barely-hit-puberty body in a creamsicle-orange floral Hollister bathing suit because that was the style of suburban Boston and it was on sale. We got in the car and my best friend (who’s mom is now dead from liver failure because she drank too much and The Government would not let her on the list for a new one) told me that her dad had ogled me from afar and asked, “who’s that? ”, to which my dad replied, “that’s Mariah, you pervert”.
